Mitigating Your Property Damages?
- Do you have a leak in the residence? Turn off the water. You have a responsibility to minimize the damage.
- Do you have a whole in the roof? is water or animals coming inside? Tarp up the Roof and minimize the damage.
- Drying out your property and preventing mold. You may have to call in a mitigation company to place dryers for MOLD prevention.
- The insurance company can deny you claim based on continues damages and DENY COVERAGE.
- Call up your insurance company and use your judgement to determine what is the actual damage to request professionals to mitigate.
- It is unfortunate the insurance company may NOT guide you properly in the beginning of your claim and direct you to mitigate/and or explain.
- TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PROPERTY and MAINTAIN! You can't expect to get paid for Prior Existing Condition. Wear and Tear or Rot is not covered by the Policy.
